Sara Bareilles & Ingrid Michaelson – Winter Song

This song is so simple, so beautiful. I don’t know what it is about it, but it’s just perfect. The music video is kinda girly cutesy, but close your eyes and just listen to the song… it will touch your heart.

I first heard a clip of this song on So You Think You Can Dance. A girl danced to this song and the song became imprinted in my mind. Three weeks later I googled ‘is love alive,’ but I couldn’t find the song. I kept trying different combinations of words, but I didn’t remember any of the lyrics. Finally, I don’t remember how, I found it. It was pure euphoria listening to the whole song for the first time.

I wanted to share this song with my girlfriend, so I told her about it, and she totally interrupted me and told me to hang on. I was a little perplexed and annoyed, but she came back with a post-it note with some of the lyrics of the song and gave them to me.
“Is this the song?” she asked. She told me that she had heard the song on SYTYCD as well, and it had had an impact on her as well! Ain’t that crazy?
